Welcome to Artful Notes where you may never look at a beach, a watermelon, an egg sandwich, or even yourself in the same way ever again.
Let’s go!

Not Black and White
This picture is in color. It’s a black sand beach.

Music I’ve Found
Margaret Rizza
I was introduced to the music of Margaret Rizza about a year ago, and find listening to her music calming and meditative.
The latest one I’ve been able to sing along with is titled Officium Divinum, Morning Prayer: No. 4, The Song of Zechariah (Benedictus). It’s a wonderful mix of majesty and grace.

Thankful for You and Egg Sandwiches
With Thanksgiving behind us, the thankfulness continues as my wife made me an egg sandwich for me to take to work since I didn’t have time for breakfast at home.
I’ve Written
The Driver
In this short story, Ben’s commute to his downtown office takes an unexpected turn. After a tense train ride, he’s forced to use a ride-sharing service due to unexpected rain and a forgotten umbrella. His driver, Richard, proves to be more than Ben bargained for, filling the journey with uncomfortable conversation and a few close calls on the road. “The Driver” explores the small tensions and unpredictable moments that can turn a simple trip into a memorable experience, for better or worse.
One More Thing…
I did not know there was a thing as a square watermelon, but apparently there is, sort of.
The link to Instagram shows how they grow.
